Orange Beach Votes 4-2 to buy the Wharf Conference Center for 1.6 Million
The Orange Beach City Council voted 4-2 in a Special Called Meeting to approve the Purchase of the Wharf Conference Center.
Voting for the Purchase was Mayor Tony Kennon, Jeff Silvers, Joni Blalock, and Ed Carroll. The dissenting votes were Brett Holk and Pattisue Simpson (Carranzza)
The seller is HCI Conference Center, LLC an Alabama limited liability company, the total purchase is for the 27,000 square foot center and adjoining parking lot.
Ken Grimes, City Administrator said the building is should pay for itself within several years according to projections. He also said there will be no new taxes issued to pay for the building.
