Change in guard at Perdido Key Chamber
As 2011 begins, the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce has a change in guard. Alison Davenport has been elected chairwoman of the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce, replacing outgoing 2010 chairman, Fred Garth. Peter King, has been elected as vice chairman of the chamber.
Davenport said the chamber will sponsor two events that debuted in 2010 — The Perdido Key Wine & Arts Festival in the spring, and Oktoberfest in fall at Villagio on Perdido Key. The chamber has appointed Lauren Turner as the events coordinator for these and all new events for 2011. This year, the chamber has debuted a new event with the Snowbird Roost in January and again in February at the Perdido Bay Community Center in Pensacola.
“All of these events tie into our goal to increase our membership by 25 percent this year,” Davenport said. “We are committed to creating great value and service to our members. In so doing, we will create a need for businesses to join and enjoy the many benefits of being a Perdido Key Chamber Member.” In addition to events, the chamber will present its quarterly business luncheons at various locations in 2011.
